Potain Hup 40-30, Grove GMK5150L and GMK4100L-1 make UK debut at Vertikal Days 2017

6/9/2017

  • Manitowoc showcased the Potain Hup 40-30, Grove GMK5150L, GMK4100L-1 and RT540E cranes, as well as a variety of customer services at Vertikal Days 2017.
  • This year’s show was held at a new location, Silverstone motor racing track, in Towcester, England.

Manitowoc celebrated a successful appearance at one of Europe’s biggest construction equipment trade shows, Vertikal Days 2017. The company presented the Grove GMK4100L-1, GMK5150L and Potain Hup 40-30 cranes in the UK for the first time alongside the Grove RT540E crane. Redditch-based UK Potain distributor, Ladybird Crane Hire partnered with the company to show off the Hup 40-30, and UK Grove rough-terrain crane distributor, Universal Cranes supported with the RT540E. Grove distributor for Ireland, Irlequip, was also in attendance. Manitowoc highlighted industry-leading services at the event that included Manitowoc Crane Care and Manitowoc Finance.

“Vertikal Days 2017 was a great success and we took advantage of the opportunity to showcase our new cranes and technologies to the European market,” explained Steve Barnett, Manitowoc commercial director for UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. “The Hup 40-30, GMK5150L and GMK4100L-1 generated a great deal of interest, in particular, as it was the first time many customers had seen these cranes in person.”

The two-day trade show was well attended, attracting more than 2,600 visitors and 140 exhibitors. It was the first time Vertikal Days was held at Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix.
