Potain MCT 205 cranes help build luxury homes in Dubai

7/5/2016

  • Nine Potain MCT 205 cranes have been chosen to work on the construction of apartments in Dubai
  • They were chosen because of their lifting capabilities, hoist inverter system and cabin technology
  • The cranes were delivered at the end of 2015 and are expected to remain on the jobsite until early 2017

Nine Potain MCT 205 topless tower cranes have been installed to work on the construction of luxury apartments and villas in Dubai, UAE. The Potain cranes are owned by Manitowoc’s Potain distributor in the UAE, NFT, who supplied them to the project’s main contractor and property developer Al Barari. The luxury resort incorporating both apartments and villas has been named “Seventh Heaven”.

Mazen Barbar, sales and operations manager at NFT in Dubai who managed the supply contract and operations of the cranes said the Potain MCT 205s were chosen because of their lifting capabilities, hoist inverter system and cabin technology.

“With the increasing demand for residential property in Dubai, our client needed a crane that is quick and easy to set-up, as well as strong and reliable,” he said. “The Potain MCT 205 was chosen for this project because it offers the latest technology and its topless design makes it perfectly suited to crowded jobsites where space is limited. In addition, our customers are always looking for the best in terms of performance and ability and the MCT 205 gives users a competitive advantage over other cranes.”

The Potain MCT 205 has a maximum capacity of 10 t while at its 65 m jib end it can handle an impressive 1.75 t. The crane’s modern design makes it quick to erect and easy to transport, with the heaviest group of components weighing just 7.9 t, while the full 65 m jib can be placed onto a truck bed in a single lift.

The cranes were delivered at the end of 2015 and are expected to remain on the jobsite until early 2017, when the Al Barari project is due for completion.

NFT, which is one of the biggest distributors for Potain worldwide, was founded in 1981 and specializes in tower cranes and construction hoists. The company’s headquarters is based in Abu Dhabi with offices in 32 countries around the world.
