Topless Potain crane used at Tahiti dam

3/20/2015

A Potain MCT 88 topless crane is being used by Manitowoc customer, GLC, in Tahiti – an island located in the central Southern Pacific Ocean.

The crane is located on a picturesque dam surrounded by high cliffs. The MCT 88 is the largest model in Potain's MCT series. The crane features minimal componentry, providing adaptability and easy installation at urban locations or jobsites with difficult access. Bases, masts, counter-jib ballast blocks and telescoping cages are interchangeable with other MCT models. The new mast sections of 1.2 m – developed recently – allow for new mast compositions on Potain’s MCT series, fixing angles with higher hook heights up to 47.5m.
