Manitowoc Cranes reorganizes to further improve customer focus

Eric Etchart, president and general manager of Manitowoc Cranes, has announced a new organizational structure that will focus the organization more directly on the customer value stream, while also improving operational efficiencies and streamlining the organization’s decision-making process.

The senior management team for Manitowoc’s crane business will consist of a team of three senior executives, each with a global responsibility. Larry Weyers is now global executive vice president, and responsible for the company’s product lines including engineering, sales and marketing, and Crane Care; Josef Matosevic is executive vice president of operations and procurement, and responsible for the operating value stream including all the facilities and procurement activities; and Dean Nolden is executive vice president of finance and information systems, and responsible for processes and efficiencies. These EVP positions report directly to Eric Etchart, president of Manitowoc Cranes.

The most notable change in the reorganization is a transition from regional management to global product line management. These product line organizations will be focused on creating the customer value proposition and resolving customer retention issues faster. The product line teams will be supported by a new global sales and marketing organization, which will continue to be structured regionally, but will be managed globally. “As our customers become more global we need to adapt our structure to respond faster to their evolving needs, streamline communications, and manage inventory availability more efficiently,” said Etchart.

We are pleased to announce the appointments of the following positions:

Dave Hull - senior vice president global sales and marketing. In his new role Dave is responsible for global sales and marketing activities, including sales and distribution channels, along with the Crane Care country organizations. Dave has a degree in business and accounting from Louisiana State University and has been with Manitowoc since 1995.

Ingo Schiller - senior vice president rough-terrain, boom truck and industrial cranes. In his new role Ingo is responsible for new product development, operational marketing, engineering and Crane Care contact centers for the aforementioned product lines. Ingo has a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and has been with Manitowoc since 2008.

Jean-Noel Daguin - senior vice president of tower cranes. In his new role Jean-Noel is responsible for new product development, operational marketing, engineering, and Crane Care contact centers for tower cranes on a global basis. Jean-Noel will be relocating back to France from China where he was previously leading the Manitowoc regional business and operations for tower cranes. Jean-Noel has a bachelor’s degree in business and technology and a master’s degree in information systems and controlling from the University of Rennes. He has been with Manitowoc since 2001.

John Kennedy - senior vice president crawler cranes. In his new role John is responsible for new product development, operational marketing, engineering, and Crane Care contact centers for crawler cranes on a global basis. John has a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and is licensed in the State of Wisconsin. John has been with Manitowoc since 1988.

Jens Ennen - senior vice president all-terrain and truck cranes. In his new role Jens is responsible for new product development, operational marketing, engineering, and Crane Care contact centers for all-terrain and truck cranes on a global basis. Jens has a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrueck, Germany. Jens has been on an ex-pat assignment in the United States for the past two years where he has been running the global engineering team. He will be relocating back to Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Jens has been with Manitowoc since 1991.

“This new structure aligns the key resources and accountability closer to our customer value stream to position the business for future growth, and streamline the speed in which we make decisions,” said Etchart.

In an effort to provide continuity in our Asia-Pacific region, Raman Joshi has been appointed as vice president and general manager for Manitowoc Asia-Pacific. In his new role, Raman will provide leadership for the Asia-Pacific sales and operating activities. He will report to Dave Hull for all sales and marketing activities and Joe Matosevic for all operations activities. Raman has a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Jodhpur, a master’s in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Raman has been with Manitowoc since 2005.

Philippe Cohet, previously executive vice president of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, has left the company to pursue other opportunities. We would like to thank Philippe for his dedication and many contributions over the past nine years.

The new structure takes effect immediately.
