Manitowoc takes largest ever space at Algerian trade fair

6/11/2013 Algeria, Africa

Manitowoc showcased its complete range of cranes at the Algiers International Fair 2013 that ran from May 29 through June 3. The company, in association with three of its local dealers, exhibited on one stand and highlighted its commitment to Algeria’s growing construction industry. The booth at this year’s events was one of Manitowoc's largest ever trade show appearances in Africa, and its biggest ever in Algeria.

In previous years, Manitowoc was represented at AIF by local dealers, but this year the company brought its dealers together to present as one entity from a single stand. Working closely with its dealers is part of Manitowoc’s strategy to capitalize on Algeria’s growing potential, said Carlos Pimenta, Manitowoc area manager for Algeria.

“We see a lot of opportunity in Algeria, both now and into the future,” he said. “We have established a strong presence in the market and our dealers provide robust and responsive Manitowoc Crane Care support to ensure customers always get the most out of their cranes. We want to thank our customers for investing in us and we, in turn, are investing in them and Algeria.”

Manitowoc has three dealers in Algeria: 2AB and VIBA Sarl, which are both Potain tower crane dealers, and EURL MGP, which is the exclusive dealer for Grove mobile cranes and Manitowoc crawler cranes in the country. All three dealers offer full Manitowoc Crane Care support, including maintenance, training and technical assistance.

Manitowoc displayed two Grove mobile cranes at AIF 2013: an RT765E-2 rough-terrain crane and a TMS760E truck-mounted crane. The cranes, which both offer a 60 t capacity, include many of the key attributes valued by customers in Algeria and the surrounding markets. These include versatility, ease of use and overall quality.

AIF is an annual event that highlights products and services from some of the country’s key industries and developing markets. Almost 900 companies exhibited and over 200,000 visitors attended this year’s event.
