Manitowoc appoints first EnCORE partner in EMEA

1/23/2013 Scandinavia

Manitowoc Crane Care has expanded its EnCORE dealer program to EMEA and added its first certified partner in the region. Danish company UN Mobilkraner, which has worked with Manitowoc since 1994, now offers fully certified repair and refurbishment services for Grove mobile cranes in Scandinavia, under the Manitowoc Crane Care brand.

Niels Hoffman, general manager of UN Mobilkraner, said the new certification expands the company’s current services and reinforces its relationship with Manitowoc.

“We are very proud to achieve EnCORE partner status and to offer even more service to our customers,” he said. “This will further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Manitowoc and ensure we remain at the leading edge of crane services in Scandinavia.”

The EnCORE partner program began in 2011 in the U.S., and has grown to a network of 10 partners, all of whom provide customers with a local option for certified repair and refurbishment services. The success of the program in North America has allowed Manitowoc to expand the service around the world and further dealer partner appointments in EMEA are expected in 2013, as Gilberto Ferreira, Global EnCORE general manager, at Manitowoc explains:

“We are delighted to award UN Mobilkraner full certification to carry out approved refurbishments as our first EnCORE partner in EMEA, and we look forward to confirming other appointments in the coming months,” he says. “The EnCORE program not only provides customers with additional services at a local level but gives dealers the backing and support to provide services of the highest quality.”

To qualify for the program, dealers must invest considerable time in training technical staff, including advanced training for welders to earn the correct certifications for welding structural components on cranes. Each dealer must also add a trained structural engineer to its staff to interface directly with Manitowoc on technical issues. Manitowoc Crane Care provides full commercial, technical and financial support for all EnCORE Partners.

The program is designed to give customers a cost-effective fleet management solution that not only extends the service life of a crane but ensures any repair and refurbishment work is done to the highest standards. As a result, Manitowoc fully certifies the load charts of all cranes remanufactured under the EnCORE program.

UN Mobilkraner will carry out all EnCORE work under the guidance of the Manitowoc Crane Care office in the UK, under the leadership of director Peter Boyes-Korkis.
