Manitowoc Crane Care appoints second EnCORE partner in EMEA

9/26/2013 Johannesburg, South Africa

Manitowoc Crane Care expanded its EnCORE partner program in the EMEA region by certifying Crane Load Tech (CLT) in South Africa as an official EnCORE partner. Through the partner program, CLT offers fully certified repair and refurbishment services for Grove mobile cranes and Manitowoc crawler cranes across eight countries in Africa.

Henry Wells, managing director of CLT, said he was delighted to add EnCORE partner services to the company’s growing list of capabilities.

“We offer our customers a longer lifecycle for their cranes through fully certified repair and refurbishment,” he said. “In Africa, cranes operate in harsh environments with tough working conditions and demanding loads. Doing more to keep cranes working effectively for longer is an ideal solution for our customers.”

CLT’s workshop near Johannesburg is where all work under the EnCORE program will be carried out. The workshop can accommodate at least eight cranes under roof at any one time and includes a boom repair bay, the first of its kind in South Africa.

The EnCORE program gives customers a local and cost-effective solution that not only extends the service life of a crane, but ensures any repair and refurbishment work is done to the highest standards. To reflect the high quality standard of EnCORE work, Manitowoc fully certifies the load charts of all cranes remanufactured under the program.

Gilberto Ferreira, global EnCORE general manager at Manitowoc, said:

“Customers expect support, particularly from a local company that has the official backing of Manitowoc Crane Care,” he says. “We are delighted to add CLT to the program, which not only brings Manitowoc closer to its dealers, but can attract more work to their business.”

The EnCORE partner program began in 2011 in the U.S., where 10 partners are now certified. The success of the program in North America has allowed Manitowoc to expand the service around the world. In January this year Danish company UN Mobilkraner was the first EMEA business to be added to the program.

To qualify for the EnCORE program, dealers invest considerable time in training technical staff, including advanced training for welders to earn the correct certifications for welding structural components on cranes. Each dealer must also add a trained structural engineer to its staff to interface directly with Manitowoc on technical issues. Manitowoc Crane Care provides full commercial, technical and financial support for all EnCORE Partners.

CLT offers comprehensive crane sales and services to customers in South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Madagascar, Mozambique and Malawi. The company provides comprehensive sales and service for the complete range of Grove mobile cranes and Manitowoc crawler cranes.
