Al Areedh grows fleet of GMK4100Ls in Saudi Arabia

2/6/2013 Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

One of the largest crane rental companies in the Middle East has added eight GMK4100Ls to its fleet, taking its total number of units of the 100 t capacity crane to 13. Al Areedh, based in Riyadh, received the cranes over the course of 2012 and the company has been using them on a variety of jobs across Saudi Arabia.

Fahad Al Areedh, general manager of Al Areedh, says the GMK4100L has proved a real hit among customers thanks to its impressive 60 m boom that makes it a highly versatile tool.

“Since the first five cranes arrived, they have been working almost non-stop,” he says. “Many projects require a powerful but compact crane that has the reach to perform lifts over larger radius. The GMK4100L is ideal and has the off-road capabilities to match. We regularly update our fleet and want to offer customers the best equipment in the market. We are delighted to add an additional eight units to our fleet, and we are sure they will be busy.”

The 100 t capacity cranes are divided among Al Areedh’s five facilities located across the country, meaning they can be deployed almost anywhere at short notice. The first of the eight cranes arrived in May 2012 and the last was delivered in October.

Their first jobs have been at a variety of general construction projects, which range from smaller residential work to larger lifts at industrial job sites.

The four-axle GMK4100L is the long-boom version of the popular GMK4100 all-terrain crane. The long-boom version has the 60 m main boom versus the 52 m boom on the standard version. The GMK4100L can lift an impressive 1.6 t at 48 m radius and at just 10.7 m long, the crane’s carrier, which includes all-wheel steering and Megatrak suspension, is compact and highly maneuverable, making it ideal for congested job sites.
