ALL purchases 30 Manitowoc and Grove cranes

6/3/2013 Cleveland, Ohio, United States

ALL Erection & Crane Rental has one of the most prominent crane rental fleets in the U.S. The number of Manitowoc and Grove cranes in the Ohio-based company’s crane lineup has been steadily increasing and 2013 will be no exception. ALL has purchased 30 new cranes to add to its 34-branch fleet.

Michael L. Liptak, president of ALL, said crane use is at the highest level he’s seen in years, including in northeast Ohio and other areas of the Midwest, the southern U.S. and Canada. Power and energy projects are booming, as is road and bridge work. More customers are seeking to purchase used machinery as well.

“We choose Manitowoc because it builds great cranes,” Liptak explained. “Manitowoc Crane Care professionals are also a huge plus. They understand and love cranes, and provide excellent and timely support.”

Though several of the cranes will be sent to ALL’s 34 branches around the U.S., most of the new purchases will be sent to the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, to meet spiking demand.

Included in the deal are:

  • 10 Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes with five luffing jibs
  • 10 Grove RT650E rough-terrain cranes
  • 10 Grove RT540E rough-terrain cranes

The surge in power and energy projects has fueled the demand for mid-range crawlers like the Manitowoc 2250, which is a mainstay in ALL’s crawler fleet. The crane has a 300 USt capacity and features a 330 ft main boom. Also part of the deal were five luffing jibs that add 70 ft to 160 ft of length to the cranes’ booms, providing extra reach for tall lifts.

“Manitowoc’s 2250 crawler crane is designed to be mobile, stable and reliable,” said Liptak. “The crane is ideal for a wide variety of applications, from setting steel to placing heavy industrial components.”

The Grove RT650E and Grove RT540E fill ALL’s customers’ demand for smaller but versatile cranes. Both cranes provide optimal lifting in compact packages. The Grove RT650E has a 50 USt capacity and a four-section, full-power boom that reaches to 105 ft. The 40 USt capacity Grove RT540E offers a four-section, full-power 102 ft boom.

“The Grove RT650E and RT540E are unique machines. They are important in their class for the work they do handling material and providing lift support on job sites,” Liptak explained. “From commercial construction to power, wind to coal, there are some job sites that need the rugged maneuverability that only a rough-terrain crane can offer.”

Founded in 1964, ALL has grown to become one of the largest crane and equipment rental companies in North America. The company offers its fleet of cranes, aerial work platforms, boom trucks, material handlers and other lift equipment throughout the U.S. and Canada. The company provides rental, sales, service and jobsite analysis for its customers.
