Manitowoc Cranes expands and adjusts Australia sales team

1/13/2012 Australia

Manitowoc has made changes to their sales team and regional coverage in Australia. Andy Chambers was appointed sales manager for Victoria and Tasmania, and Ben Masters will now manage Queensland in addition to his existing sales areas of South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Chambers has over 30 years of experience in the Australian crane industry. He started as a crane operator and has moved through the industry into senior management by working for a range of companies including Brambles, James Cranes, Gleasons and, most recently, Associated Rigging.

Masters is already well-known to Manitowoc customers in Australia having traveled the country extensively during his 12 months with the company. Masters was previously responsible for the Victoria and Tasmania regions that he has now handed over to Chambers. This has allowed him to take on the major Queensland region in addition to South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Chambers is based in Manitowoc’s Melbourne facility, while Masters has moved to Queensland where he is based at the Manitowoc office in Brisbane. Both report to Neil Hollingshead, sales and marketing director for Australia.

Hollingshead said adding Chambers to the team and relocating Masters show Manitowoc’s strong commitment to Australian customers.

“Over the years we have continually added new personnel and offices, and this is just the latest stage in the development of our sales network,” he said. “As the population of Manitowoc cranes increases and our customer base grows, it is important we have the resources in place to provide customers with the service they expect.

“Ben has done an excellent job in his time with us and his customers appreciate the support and expertise he provides. Andy’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the regional crane market make him a perfect fit for the role. As we look to solidify and strengthen our position in this important market, I have every confidence that Andy and Ben will continue to be great assets for our company.”

Chambers said it was an exciting time to join a market-leading company.

“I am delighted to join such an impressive organization like Manitowoc Cranes that is also growing,” he said. “It’s an exciting time with many opportunities to develop. I look forward to meeting customers from Victoria and Tasmania and helping them however I can.”
