German Potain dealer celebrates 40 years in business

3/27/2012

Potain dealer Moser Baumaschinen held an open day for customers to celebrate its 40th anniversary in the German construction equipment market and to showcase its full range of Potain self-erecting cranes. The event took place March 24-25 at the company’s headquarters in Plattling, southern Germany.

The event featured several live demonstrations, and guests were also invited to take the controls themselves. Exhibitions included the 1.8 t capacity Igo MA 21 and the 6 t capacity HDT 80.

Robert Moser, owner of Moser Baumaschinen, said the day reinforced the strong relationship between the company and its customers.

“These self-erecting cranes are fast and simple to erect, and we showed customers at this event the benefits this brings to the job site,” he said. “The open day gave insight into the market and what latest innovations are available in lifting equipment and other construction equipment.”

In addition to demonstrating the Igo MA 21 and HDT 80, Moser also exhibited four other Potain cranes — an Igo T 85, Igo 50, Igo 36 and an Igo MC 13.

Moser became a Potain dealer in 1988. Over the years, the partnership between Moser and Manitowoc has grown, and today the company offers sales and rental of Potain self-erecting cranes and Manitowoc Crane Care customer support.

Gerd Haladuda, Manitowoc’s sales manager for tower cranes in central Europe, attended the Moser event and paid tribute to the excellent work the company does.

“Germany is one of the most important markets in Europe, so having the right partners is crucial,” he said. “I look forward to sharing a successful future with Moser.”

Established in 1972, Moser offers a range of other construction equipment for sale or rental and is a leading supplier of construction equipment in southern Germany. Its tower crane rental fleet is close to 310 units.

“We do not simply sell machines. We provide a wealth of experience and knowledge that gives customers a better service,” explained Mr Moser. “We not only meet customer needs, we exceed them.”

Today, Moser has more than 70 staff, including 40 service technicians, who work across southeast Germany through offices in Plattling, Altenmarkt, Maxhütte-Haidhof and Allershausen.
