First Manitowoc Dongyue truck cranes arrive in India

2/10/2011 Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States

Manitowoc will introduce its Dongyue mobile truck cranes to India at the bC India trade fair, with the arrival of the GT25-5A crane appearing at the bC India trade fair.

Raman Joshi, managing director of Manitowoc Cranes India, said the company was excited to introduce the Dongyue brand to the Indian market.

“Over the past three years, we have developed an excellent range of Dongyue truck cranes that are increasingly successful,” he said. “We are now ready to introduce these cranes to customers in India, and we expect strong interest. Our existing Dongyue customers appreciate their simplicity and reliability and find them a productive and profitable addition to their fleet. Following the introduction of these cranes, our next move will be to begin manufacturing the chassis for them here in India. We hope to announce more on this soon.”

The GT25-5A is a 25 t capacity crane mounted on a three-axle carrier. It has a five-section 40.2 m telescopic boom that offers a 49 m maximum lifting height when working with the jib. Power for the crane comes from a Sinotruck WD615.92 engine, compliant to Euro III standards, offering a power output of 196 kW at 2,200 rpm.

The engine drives a hydraulic system that includes a four-circuit pump that automatically combines pump flows to speed up operations, as needed. In addition, a variable flow hydraulic motor provides the flexibility for optimal line speed.

As with all Manitowoc cranes, engineers put a strong emphasis on making the crane easy to maintain. There is a new hydraulic system cooler to allow longer duty-cycle operations without overheating, and an indicator on the hoist drum warns when operations approach their safe limit. The crane’s design also has convenient access to essential components for easier maintenance.

To keep operators comfortable on the job, Manitowoc has provided a streamlined, ergonomically designed cab that offers an unobstructed view of both the load outside and the instrument panels inside. The cab also provides convenient and comfortable access to the crane’s controls.

There are anti-slip steps and handrails to give the operator easier access to the cab, while all the crane’s controls are color-coded for easier identification and use.

The range of Manitowoc Dongyue truck cranes offers models from 8 t to 55 t capacity. Manitowoc’s Indian office will sell the cranes directly and full parts and service support is in place through Manitowoc Crane Care.
